I'm sure we don't need to tell you how much our culture is confused about God. Most people don't believe He's relevant to their lives and many even see religion as a force for evil rather than good. It's no wonder they see Christianity as not worth even examining.

That hasn't changed our mandate to be ambassadors for Christ, of course. We are called to always be ready to give a defense for the hope we have, sharing our faith with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15).

But Christians themselves are struggling to articulate their worldview. Our generation is one of the least biblically literate in history.

As local believers here in Calgary, we've come together because we want to help equip Christians to be effective ambassadors. We want them to be able to wisely share their faith in a way our culture understands.

As part of this mandate, we are bringing some of the top Christian thinkers today to Calgary at a conference we're calling: Be Ready: Reasonable Faith in an Uncertain World. We want Christians to know that their faith is reasonable; that loving God means loving Him with all our heart, soul and mind (Luke 10:27). Reasonable Faith is the name of the website of our headline speaker, Dr. William Lane Craig. Dr. Craig has debated some of the top atheists today - you can find many of these on Youtube. He's so good in fact that top atheists like Richard Dawkins refuse to debate him. [1]

We'll also be hosting speakers from the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (BIOLA). This includes Sean McDowell, J.P. Moreland, Prof. Clay Jones and Dr. Craig Hazen. All of these speakers are here to instruct Canadians on how we can … Always be ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence … 1 Peter 3:15.

Take a look at our site for more information about our speakers and the upcoming event. Our hope is that this is not just a conference you attend but a place where you can be equipped to engage your culture.
