Faith Beyond Belief exists to help equip Christians in Calgary with a better understanding of the Christian worldview and a greater ability to share this worldview with others.
I have to be honest with you. Though I’ve lived by the foot of the Rocky Mountains for a few years now, I’ve never been rock climbing. I’ve often thought about going, but then that old cliché comes to mind: It’s not the fall that kill you, it’s the sudden stop at the end!
I guess that shows the kind of faith I have in climbing guides and the equipment they use.
Of course, any seasoned climbing guide will assure people like me that their equipment is reliable and the techniques they teach are safe. They constantly test their equipment, in all kinds of conditions, because their lives, and the lives of those they teach, hinge on thier equipment’s reliability.
They wouldn’t put their faith in their equipment or their techniques unless they were trustworthy.
This is the kind of faith Jesus talks about in the Bible. He wants us to put our trust in Him because He says our lives depend on Him. Our goal is to help people understand why trusting Jesus is both the most reasonable and satisfying response in light of the evidence we have.
