Jojo Ruba - Executive Director

Jojo equips Christians to be effective ambassadors for Christ for everyday conversations. He has spoken at venues that include Sunday morning services, secular debates at universities and morning chapels at Christian schools.

Jojo focuses on practical ways to defend the faith. He teaches Christians how to explain their worldview using tools that non-Christians can understand. For example, he helps audiences think of the right questions to ask non-believers not just the right answers they ought to give.

Jojo earned a Bachelor of Journalism and a Masters in Political Science from Carleton University in Ottawa. He is executive director of Faith Beyond Belief, based in Calgary, AB, Canada.

Shafer Parker - Staff Apologist & Church Relations

Shafer is convinced the Bible is the only book in the world to accurately describe the meaning of life, the universe and everything. It is his life goal to help as many people as possible to embrace this truth.

He has an M.Div. from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently completing a D.Min. in Applied Theology with Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Paul Buller - Speaker

Paul Buller is a husband and father of two, and a practicing engineer. Raised in a Christian home, Paul began to wrestle through the fundamental question of whether the beliefs he had been taught were actually true or not. Over the years he has studied Mormonism, Atheism, the so-called Science/Religion debate, the reliability of the Bible, several topics in philosophy and various other related subjects.

Paul has written two books that relate to Christian Apologetics. His first book - Arguing with Friends is intended to help the reader navigate the minefield of contentious subjects.

Paul’s second book - on the difficult subject of suffering - is written in the wake of his wife’s brush with death.

Glen Torhjelm - Staff Writer

Glen Torhjelm was born in Calgary, AB, but spent 30 years in the U.S., mostly in the Phoenix, AZ metropolitan area. Although raised in a Christian home, Glen did not truly make the Christian faith his own until February 8, 1998.

After completing a B.S. in Psychology, Glen attended law school, first at the University of Arizona, and ultimately graduating from Seattle University School of Law after relocating to the Pacific Northwest.

Glen is currently enrolled at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, pursuing an M.Div., with plans to continue towards a M.Th. in Applied Apologetics and a Ph.D. in Christian Ethics in Public Policy.

Glen is a cancer survivor, having undergone surgery and radiation, which concluded in March of 2017. The grace of God in and through this experience has only heightened his resolve to better know and share the reality of God and the love demonstrated by Jesus Christ on the cross.

Glen currently lives with his wife and their two daughters in Calgary, AB.

Glen Moore - Speaker

Glen was born and raised in Calgary and attended the University of Calgary majoring in physics. Glen shares “One of the problems with studying a subject like physics is people tend to comment a lot that you must be very smart. Eventually it began to go to my head. I started to think I must really be all that and a bag of chips.” While studying at UOC Glen landed in the hospital with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. He thought he was so smart and then got a serious illness of the mind. He feels there is a connection? Through struggling with this illness and also because of a fear of hell, he repented and received Christ as his saviour. Glen believes God used mental illness to humble him and once humbled, he was ready to ask for divine help. Now he works for the Schizophrenia Society and I for FBB. Glen says “I’m eager in my new role and excited about the future! I will be giving a Christian perspective on mental illness and related topics.”
