January 31—Edmonton | February 1—Calgary

As the concepts of gender identity and sexual orientation have dominated the headlines and social media, Christians have struggled to respond with grace and truth. We’ve been told the only way to love our LGBT neighbours is to agree with their beliefs and behaviour. At these events, FBB will host Dr Ann Gillies of Redeemed to Restore Ministries will be speaking on The Fabrication of the Transgender Child. Jojo Ruba will share what he learned at the Q Christian conference, a conference that teaches a revisionist view of sexuality, and Pastor Paul Dirks from the OneAccord team will bring some of the finest and most up to date apologetic teaching on the LGBT issues that is available in Canada. These speakers will help us learn how to engage others on issues of sexuality and gender from a biblical perspective.

PLEASE NOTE: Registrants will be e-mailed the location closer to the event.

Jojo ruba

Jojo equips Christians to be effective ambassadors for Christ for everyday conversations. He has spoken at venues that include Sunday morning services, secular debates at universities and morning chapels at Christian schools.

Jojo focuses on practical ways to defend the faith. He teaches Christians how to explain their worldview using tools that non-Christians can understand. For example, he helps audiences think of the right questions to ask non-believers not just the right answers they ought to give.

Jojo earned a Bachelor of Journalism and a Masters in Political Science from Carleton University in Ottawa. He is executive director of Faith Beyond Belief, based in Calgary, AB, Canada.
