TRAINING FOR CHURCH LEADERS: 1 – 4:30 PM

FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC: 7 – 9 PM

Please register to receive an email with the location.

As believers, we know that we cannot change our culture without prayer. At this event, we will have our own Shafer Parker from FBB as well as bringing Pastor Rob Parker of National House of Prayer and Pastor Kevin Cavanaugh of One Accord, who are organizing events to mobilize Christians to pray for our country, especially on issues of education and sexuality. We’ll aim to create a province-wide prayer network so that Christians in every provincial riding will be praying for our political and cultural leaders in preparation for our next election. The afternoon church leaders’ event will include a brainstorming session on how to mobilize churches to pray regularly for our province.

PLEASE NOTE: Registrants will be e-mailed the location 48 hours before the event.

Speakers

Pastor Kevin Cavanaugh

The Lord called my family and I here to Canada to Pastor Cedar Grove and serve this wonderful city in November 1997 and it continues to be one of the great adventures of my life.

My wife Cynthia and I have been married since 1978 and we have three married sons, and seven beautiful grandchildren.  My wife Cynthia is a professor, author, speaker, and Life Coach. Together we enjoy date nights, cooking, grandparenting and making memories with our growing family.

Cedar Grove is a multi-generational, intra-cultural congregation with 55 Nationalities. We enjoy a rich and colorful history. Since 1960, this family of God has sought to fulfill the desire of our Father's heart by seeking to reach and love the lost in Surrey and around the globe.  We are committed to helping our community grow in their love for God, their love for each other, and their love for those who have yet to come to know Him.  The way we go about doing that is best outlined in our values. Cedar Grove is also a covenanting partner in an inter-denominational prayer effort to bring the transforming presence of Jesus into Surrey and surrounding regions.  We are convinced that there is only one Church, with many diverse expressions - of which we are blessed to be one!

Pastor Kevin leads the Surrey Pastors Network and is a founding shaper and leader of the OneAccord document and movement. OneAccord is a document made up of 14 articles affirming a biblical view of the supremacy of Christ, the Authority of Scripture, Salvation, Marriage, Sexuality and Gender identity.

Pastor Kevin Cavanaugh  will speak in the afternoon on Finding Hope In Times of Crisis and Canada is not Babylon—Yet! in the evening.

Pastor Rob Parker

Rob Parker is the founding director of the National House of Prayer, located in Ottawa Canada. NHOP was established in 2005 with the mandate originating from 1Timothy 2: 1-3. Rob's desire is to mobilize informed, focused, and sustained prayer for Canada and its leaders. Rob has a strong preaching and teaching gift joined with a pastor's heart for God's people.

The National House of Prayer hosts prayer teams of all ages representing the Christian church from all across Canada. Rob is passionate to see intercessors and prayer movements from across Canada linked together, thus increasing the level of spiritual authority.

Rob and his wife Fran were Pastors for 15 years in British Columbia before establishing the work of the National House of Prayer in Ottawa.  Rob and Fran reside  at the National House of Prayer in Ottawa, ON.

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.  -1 Timothy 2:1-3

Pastor Rob Parker  is speaking on Our Changing Culture

Shafer Parker

Shafer is convinced the Bible is the only book in the world to accurately describe the meaning of life, the universe and everything. He is further convinced that only a Biblical worldview is capable of sustained blessings for those who hold to it and live within it. It is his life goal to help as many people as possible to embrace this truth.
